I love a pamper evening, this time of year more than ever. If you’re like me, you probably received a lot of shower gels/potions/lotions for Christmas that you want to use! What’s a better excuse than a New Years Eve pamper evening? I’m personally going to be doing this routine in the daytime, in preparation for my night out. I’ll be using products and scent to wake me up and prep my skin for makeup and loads of prosecco. I’ll also include some relaxing products if you’re using this as a full-on pamper evening and drifting off to sleep afterwards.
STEP 1, set the scene.
Applying a face mask and having a bath is great n all but is it really that nice if your room is covered in clothes and crusty bowls? I like to spend 5 mins ( I literally put a timer on) to tidy my room, make my bed and clear up the bathroom a bit. Lighting a candle also really helps set the mood! I’m currently burning my Bath And Body Works Candle (great UK site here) but I love Jo Malone and all the ones from home sense as well.
STEP 2, entertainment.
I do love music of course but when I’m going to be in the bath for a long time or doing bits in my room, I prefer YouTube or a podcast. Some of my favourite podcasts include The Lady Gang, My Favorite Murder, Sheer Luxe and Full Coverage. If you’re looking for a playlist to listen too before a big night out, I like this one here or this one for a relaxing evening.
STEP 3, skincare.
Every pamper routine needs to start with a clean face. I’m currently using the REN Cleansing Balm* to take the makeup and dirt off my face. It’s one of the best cleasing balms I’ve tried (and I’ve tried loads!) as it’s the most perfect texture and cleanses my skin so well. I then choose a mask for whatever I need for my skin. Before a night out I like to use something exfoliating, to get rid of any dull skin. I use The Ordinary Peeling mask. If I’m staying in, I’ll use something gentle and calming like the Eve Lom Moisture Mask to really replenish and soothe my skin.
I’ve found a new toning mist that I love. The Omrovicza Queen Of Hungary Mist, unfortunately, is as lovely as everyone says, it’s a shame you have to take out a loan for it. For a cheaper and cruelty-free alternative, the Superdrug Vitamin E Mist is really nice! If I’m putting on makeup and heading out after my pamper session I love using my Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream, which is an emollient cream that plumps the skin and provides the perfect base for makeup. If I’m staying in and sleeping I’m happy to grease up my face with everything! I’m currently really enjoying The Beauty Kitchen Face Oil* to seriously nourish my skin.
STEP 4, bath time.
I love a getting ready bath. A glass of prosecco and your most fancy products, what could be better? I’m using the MOA Dreamy Bath Salts* this time as they smell so so beautiful. They’re full of gorgeous essential oils and other natural ingredients. The base is mineral rich Himalayan pink salt which can kick-start circulation and clear out bad energies. I love these before a night out to recharge my body or before a nights sleep to deeply relax. For shower gel, I’ve still been enjoying the MooGoo Milk Wash* as it’s very gentle on my sensitive skin ( I don’t like using TOO many smellies on my body). If I’m showing some skin I’ll use a body scrub, I’m currently using the Soap And Glory Breakfast Scrub which smells delicious and leaves my skin really soft!
Thank you so much for reading and I hope you have a wonderful and safe new year! Let me know in the comments what you’re up to xx
