My Festive Beauty Edit

It’s the time of year where walking around Churchill Square in a full glitter lid, red lip and Christmas jumper is absolutely okay and I’m planning on making the most of it. There’s plenty of blog posts and tutorials on how to achieve the perfect winged liner and red lip so I’m going to leave that to the pros. Instead, I want to go for something slightly different (not really lol) so I’m sticking with fresh skin, sparkly eyes and lips that make people question if I’ve had a little session with the doctor (no judgment here, I love that look!).

My favourite thing to chat about! I want to go for fresh, glowing skin that will help my makeup stay on all night and look like it’s just been applied. that’s a bit of an ask, especially with the harsh winter weather but I do have some products that REALLY help. I’ve been cleansing with the REN Gentle Cleansing Milk* and I really have been noticing a difference, it leaves my skin way softer than it was before and helps create the perfect canvas for the rest of my products. In terms of moisture, I’ve been using the Sukin Chia Seed Face Oil*. My skin loves oil and I really like using this loads recently. I find makeup glides really nicely over the top and it really adds to the glow! For my lips and dry patches, I’ve been using my faveMOA Green balm*. This stops makeup clinging to the skin, which no one wants!

Returning to an old favourite, I’ve been using theBourjois Healthy Mix Foundation as it adds a good amount of coverage without making your skin face look flat and dull- it actually adds radiance. For my dark circles (of which there are a lot) I’ve been using a duo of the Bobbi Brown Corrector and the Nars Creamy Radiant Concealer. I find this pair perfect and it really does last under my eyes without creasing!

I’ve been really into cream products recently and layering them with powder to make them last. In terms of contour and bronzer, I’ve been using the Tanya Burr Contour Stick which adds colour and sculpts as well. In the evenings I feel blush is super important to stop you looking washed out in photos. I LOVE my Nars blush in _____ as it adds a natural flush. OF COURSE, I’m using highlight this Christmas and I’m still obsessed with m Jouer Highlighter In Citrine, it literally makes you look like a bauble (best £19 you’ll spend).

As I mentioned, there are plenty of tutorials and blog posts about the winged liner and red lip look. I’ll be going for a purple, shimmery and slightly smokey eye. I start with a few shades from my H&M Eye Pallete in my crease to create a bit of depth and transition. These pallets are gorgeous! For my lid, I sweep on some By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Misty Rock . These are so creamy and last so long! If I want to vamp up the look I’ll add Anastasia Pink Champagne and some fluttery lashes!

For a night out I like to go for a nude glossy lip. I’ve been switching between MAC Honey Love with Laura Mercier Bare Baby or Tanya Burr Lipgloss in Champagne Toast. All these products add a little colour and shine to my lips and make them look bigger

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading! What makeup look will you be wearing for your Christmas parties?
