Morning Rituals

A few months ago I wrote a post about the things I do in the evening to wind down and relax. Today I’m coming with you on how I pep up again, prep my skin for the day and fuel my body.  I’ve been trying some new skincare bits that I’m really into as well so I’m excited to share them with you!

Just like every other basic bitch, I can’t function without a coffee first thing in the morning to wake me up. It’s become a daily routine where I say hello to my dogs and brew a fresh mug. I don’t think the caffeine actually does much but it’s the whole experience that I love. I pride myself in my mug collection, not going to lie. I take mine with oat milk, frothed if I can!

I’ve recently completely overhauled my routine and I only use 3 products in the morning and I’m completely in love with all of them.  First of all, in the morning I want to wash my face to prep for other products and clear my complexion. I usually use a balm or an oil but they can be slightly heavy for mornings so I’ve been using the Age Protect Cleanser (£25) from ARK Skincare. It’s the closest I’ll go to a foamy cleanser as it’s a gel texture that really emulsifies on the skin. It cleans my skin really well and doesn’t leave it feeling tight at all!

After cleansing, I go in with a little spritz which is one of my favorite parts of my morning. I use the Hydrating Beauty Mist  (£25) which injects a glow back to my skin after washing. It has the most stunning, spa smell which I adore. My skin loves the hyaluronic acid and I can’t see this product going anywhere anytime soon.

Finally, I use the Age Protect Face Cream (£35) to lock-in the moisture and prepare for makeup. It sinks in beautifully and my skin drinks it up. The cool tub means no waste and no air gets to it, which I love. For me, it’s the perfect balance between a thick heavy cream and a light lotion- leaving my skin perfectly comfortable. The high tech ingredients are really helping my skin improve its texture and overall appearance. I really like this product and I recommend it to anyone.

Whether it’s going to the shop for milk, sitting in the sun for a few minutes for just laying in bed in silence- I find I need a moment in the morning just to calm, gather my thoughts and get ready for the day. If I’m lucky enough to wake up on a sunny day I love to take a walk in the morning or chill in the garden. This is my time to just breathe and be in silence and I love it. It definitely gets me in the right mindset for the day. On this particular day I went on a walk to my local juice shop, got a zingy ginger and carrot juice and enjoyed the autumn sunshine. I wrapped up warm in my new jumper (£5 charity shop find!!) and had a brisk stroll, the perfect autumn ritual.

Mornings are my favorite. I’d love to know how you spend your mornings and what your rituals are. Thank you for reading and thank you to ARK Skincare for working with me on this post.

I’m really intrigued by ARK skincare stuff but I’m so worried to change the products I use as I have such sensitive skin but these look really good and not too expensive either! Also I love the photography in this post x
