There’s nothing I love more than getting everything done for the day and taking my time setting up my room and getting ready for a relaxing evening. I think I’ve nailed my routine and with the help of some beautiful products, I can slip into my sleep very easily!
So first things first I have to sort my room out and set the mood for relaxation. I make sure everything is tidy and all cups etc have been taken downstairs and washed up (if you know, you know) I make my bed and light some lovely smelling candles. I’m obsessed with burning lavender oil in my diffuser and putting my Salt Lamp on to create a relaxing vibe.
I think most people can agree that a bath is a sure way to relax quickly. Usually, I watch RuPual or YouTube in the bath but when I really want to calm I’ll put on my ‘Chill’ playlist which you can follow here. Be warned, my music taste isn’t the best. In my bath, I use the Neals Yard Lavender Bath Salts* which release the most incredible aroma and it fills the whole room! If I’m feeling fancy I’ll also use my L’Occitane Lavender Bubble Bath. Can you see a recurring theme here? I just LOVE lavender. I also love the Tisserand Sweet Dreams Bath Oil as it leaves my skin really soft and the power of essential oils makes me sleepy.
So after a bath, I try to get immediately into bed and get sleepy. On my body, I use a boring, prescription body lotion that helps my psoriasis but across my neck and shoulders, I use the lovely Neals Yard Geranium and Orange Body Lotion as I find the smell very soothing and almost like a spa. This is where I take the time to chill out. For me, I try to do some deep breathing and think positive things. I love using a pillow spray also, the one I use was from San Fransisco but I’ll link some other ones that look amazing…
