Recently I tried the amazing service at Hotel Du Vin in Brighton and I had to share it with you on here! If you haven’t seen it, Hotel Du Vin is the beautiful building on Ship Street in the Laines. It honestly looks like something out of Disney Land, it’s so pretty. I actually went there for my 18th birthday and I was so happy to return.
My Mum and I were shown to the terrace where the sun was shining and was like a little escape from hectic Brighton (we went on the day of the marathon so this was needed). We were greeted with a glass of champagne to start with.
Slowly the food started appearing and my mouth slowly starting salivating. I love afternoon tea and this was a perfect one for me to sample. We started with the savoury dishes. There was a lovely bagel with smoked salmon and cream cheese which is my favourite combination ever. There was also a lovely melty (not a word?) ham and cheese croissant.
I loved the mini quiche and the amazing heritage tomato little canopy, very very nice. To be honest, this platter would have been perfect on its own as it was very filling. But before I had time to unbutton my jeans, out came the sweet foods….
There were creme egg brownies, lemon meringue pies, scones and doughnuts. These were all so lovely but my favourite was the gin and tonic sorbet, which I could have drunk a pint of. All the food was so lovely and I thought I couldn’t possibly finish it, but of course, I did.
They also had a great selection of gin and tonics. I love gin but I normally just stick to the same thing- Hendricks and tonic with a slice of cucumber. I went for the Monkey 47 with a nice tonic and blueberries, it was lovely!
I had such a great time at this event and was lovely seeing all my blogging friends again! If you’re in Brighton or if you have a branch near you, I recommend visiting a hotel du vin some time soon. You can go for a great meal or a cocktail and it’s perfect for a special occasion.
Thank you so much to Hotel Du Vin for letting me try your amazing afternoon tea menu, me and my Mum loved every mouthful! All opinions in this blog post are mine…
