Joe’s Cafe, Hove

Last week me and my friend Keely got up bright and early and headed to Joes cafe for an early brunch. I’d heard lots about it from other Brighton bloggers and from Trip advisor so I’m happy I’ve finally ticked it off my list (yes, I actually have a list) I really enjoyed it here. Here’s what we thought….

Location For where I live, it’s the perfect location for a quick drive down to grab some amazing food. There are loads of surrounding roads to park on, but you do have to pay. It’s not a far walk from Seven Dials and it’s right near BHASVIC.

Interior To be honest, the interior didn’t blow me away but somewhere like this you want it to feel cosy and welcoming and that it did! It felt very homely but with splashes of colour. The garden looked really cool but I didn’t get a chance to have a proper look. They had a really cool blackboard with the places and people they get their locally sourced ingredients from!

Service Everyone I spoke to and who served us were lovely. They were happy for me to take photos and film ( I was vlogging, video to come). I think they’re used to Brighton food bloggers lol. If you check out their Instagram they always show photos of their staff and chefs, which I think is really cool.

Coffee From what I remember they don’t offer the WIDEST range of drinks but sometimes all you need is a plain old coffee. I went for a flat white and Keely went for a latte- both lovely and really well made. Also, side note, they sell San Pelligrino which is the stuff of dreams.

The Food Okay so I REALLY wanted to try something new and go for one of their amazing hashes, I saw a few come out and they looked lovely. I went for what I normally always have for breakfast- Avocado on sourdough with poached eggs. IT WAS SO GOOD. I’ve had this many places but this was my favourite. They seasoned the avocado with spring onion which was new to me and the eggs were cooked perfectly. There were different options for side orders but I went for chorizo which was cooked perfectly and I could have honestly eaten it again 3 times. ( I was full, but I’m greedy af) I highly recommend trying this, but next time I might go for a full English…. My friend Keely went for the veggie breakfast and she really liked it. They cater for vegans too which is great!

Value Keely and I split the bill in half and paid £10 each which I think is great value! I was full until dinner time and I really enjoyed it.

    Hi,
Being a hoveite, I have frequented Joes on many an occasion and like you, have come away full and satisfied! To expand my culinary knowledge, where are Pelicano and Coffetzar that you mention in your blog?

    Regards,

    Dan
