Aromatherapy is something I’ve really got into recently. It’s a way of using essential oils to soothe the senses and create different moods in the room or within beauty. I’ve been using it in a very basic way but it’s something I’ve really been enjoying. Here are my fave ways…
Diffuser I drop around 10-12 drops of essential oil into my room diffuser (like a vaporiser that uses water to hydrate the air). At night time I use lavender and in the day I use peppermint. Lavender is really calming and it was the first essential oil I ever bought. Peppermint is great for when your working or doing uni work- great for focus.
Beauty You can use essential oils in your beauty routine but please be careful. They can be dangerous if used in the wrong way. Read instructions and always do your research. I use tea tree oil on spots if I get them – just dot on with a clean finger. I also use lavender oil in my bath. I love the Tisserand bath oils, pre-blended to suit your mood.
Calm If I ever get anxious, I keep a lavender inhaler in my bag. I simply sniff it and it instantly calms me down. IT’S WEIRD, I can literally feel my heart slow down (in a good way). I also like to rub some of the Tisserand De-Stress oil in my hands and deeply inhale.
Room Sprays I’ve made a few room sprays with essential oils. I have made a calming pillow spray with lavender and cedarwood oil and an energising spray with tea tree and peppermint.
