There’s a new trend sweeping YouTube and Instagram and I decided to give it a go. First, there was the Cara brow; Bold, bushy and unruly. Then there was the Instagram brow; thick, dark, faded at the front. Now? Soap brows.
You know the feeling when you get home, look in the mirror and notice you literally look like death and everything’s faded? Yeah, it’s shit. THIS new craze is designed to keep your brows where you want them all day and make them look bushy and natural as opposed to really filled in and over groomed.
So here’s what it is: You take your brow brush, get it wet and roll it in soap. Make sure it’s clear soap, not creamy. Then you simply comb it through clean brows. Comb up!
Combing brows up makes you look really youthful and gives a much more natural look to your brows.
After combing up the brows, you can fill them in; I recommend a pencil. A powder might not work with this technique as it might cling to the wetness and become a lil gloppy. I use my beloved Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz ( reviewed here). Make sure you fill in going WITH the direction of the combed brows or you’ll just ruin the work you just did. Be more light handed than normal…
Does it work? Yes! I’ve tried numerous brow gels yet this technique has kept my brows in place the longest. It really catches the individual hairs and makes them stand on end.
Would I do it again? I feel like I’m too lazy to do this as a daily thing (who wants to walk 5 steps to the bathroom anyway?) but it really does work and I will do it when I need my makeup to last all day.
What did I use? I bought the classic Pears Soap from Superdrug, for 95p. This is so so cost effective so if you want fleeky brows that don’t move then try this.
Will you be trying this? Let me know in the comments….
