I haven’t walked around Boots and had a nose for ages so when I had the chance, I took it. I can honestly spend hours looking at all the new skincare products and new make-up releases. Over the last few weeks I’ve picked up a few things and these are the top 4 products that have impressed me the most.
Recently, I popped into Boots and saw the new-ish NYX counter, which is really exciting. I headed straight to the Soft Matte Lip Creams (£5.50), which have a massive cult following on-line. I’ve been getting into my orange toned lips recently (mentioned here) so my eyes darted straight to the colour Morocco, which is a BRIGHT orange with a hint of red. It’s really flattering on the lips and I LOVE ITTTT! The formula is like a matte liquid lipstick but instead of going on really wet, it’s almost creamy ( as the name would suggest, DUR).
They’re not as long lasting as a liquid lipstick like the NYX Liquid Suede (£6.50) or the Sleek Matte Me (£4.99) but they’re really rich in colour and last a decent time. The colour range also is one of the best on the high street.
I’ve been eyeing up the Collection Speedy Highlighting Stick (£3.99) for a while now, as I’ve never had a stick highlighter. This one is a slightly pearly colour and the texture is super creamy. Applied with fingers, this gives such a beautiful luminous sheen to the skin. I love this soooo much, it may of just creeped it’s way into my top 10 affordable products ( if you want a blog post just on this, please leave a comment!) You can buy here.
When in London this month, I knew I had to visit the Charlotte Tilbury Covent Garden store and I’m very happy I did. It’s so stunning, the staff are lovely and of course the actual products are beautiful. It’s become a small tradition every time I’ve gone on a special trip I’ve treated myself to a CT lipstick! This time I decided to go for Sexy Sienna, a lovely peachy pink. It’s in her matte finish, which I love as they aren’t drying at all.
A brand I’ve loved for ages is Neal’s Yard. It’s an all natural brand that use essential oils and plants to create really effective skincare and body care products. I recently run out my lovely Caudalie Grape Water (full review here) so I needed a new spray toner to use for setting my make-up and after cleansing. The lady at the shop recommended I use the Orange Flower Toner (£16), which I really like. The smell is really refreshing and it’s very hydrating on the skin. Also, I know it shouldn’t matter but the packing is lovely and looks great in the bathroom.
I’ve been loving the new additions to my stash. I feel the highlighter will become something I’ll keep re buying! If you enjoyed thus post PLEASE subscribe with your email address to get alerts every time I post, you can enter your email just to the right of the screen now. <3
