The Morning Line Up

Recently I’ve started keeping my daily skin and makeup products in these handy acrylic draws on my dressing table. I do my morning skincare routine here every day, then get started with my makeup. You can read more in depth about my morning routine here.

As you’ll see, most of these products are smaller. Some are travel sizes from sets I’ve bought and some are samples from stores. Some counters are really good at giving out samples so if you’re polite it’s always worth trying.

First step The first thing to do it to clean the face. You can use a cleanser and a flannel over the sink. I’ve been using a micellar water, because I’m lazy, on a cotton pad. I’ve loved the Caudalie one*. will I buy the full size? Probably not, it’s lovely and gentle but the Garnier is over half the price and does the same thing, sorry Caudalie!

Second Step This step isn’t entirely necessary. I like to use a toner after cleansing, either a nice spritz (like my fave superdrug one) or one like this. This is the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic. It smells lovely and adds a nice layer of hydration to my face. Will I buy the full size? I think so, yeah! It’s lovely and gentle for the morning. I think i’ll but the spray version though.

Third Step Serum comes next, and is really important. If you want to make the most out of your skincare you’ll need to use a serum, to help your creams penetrate deeper (not a good enough reason to use the word penetrate) I’m using this Caudalie Radiance Serum* but I love all the super drug ones. Will I buy the full size? I don’t think so. It’s lovely but I need something a little stronger, maybe their oils.

Fourth Step Lastly, the most important part, SPF. If you’re going outside you’ll NEED an SPF. You can get this from your primer, day cream or foundation. This one is the Josie Maran Day Cream With SPF 47 (most random number?). This goes on quite white, like most do, but it disappears. Will I buy the full size? I really like this, it does the job and my makeup goes on really nice BUT £78 for a sun cream? NO.

I’ve been really loving using up my stash of miniture beauty products and it’s saving me some money soon!
